If you happen to be in the Montreal area then make sure not to miss this year’s Comiccon, taking place at the Palais des Congres from July 6th to the 8th.
I’m hosting a workshop on Sunday called “Body Talk: How To Include Diverse Bodies In Media” and it talks about how the entertainment we consume is super limited in the body types it shows us, and how you have the power to change that. It’s going to be really fun, really informative, and I’ll be sharing a bunch of writing techniques to help people who are struggling with diversifying their work (or could use a little help getting inspired).
So come check out “Body Talk” this Sunday at the 2018 Montreal Comiccon, in 515 A: Panel Room 3, from 1:45 to 2:30 P.M.
Hope to see you guys there!
So I realize there’s been some radio silence on my end in the last few months, but that’s only because there’s been a lot going on. Although I wish I had the time to make an individual post for every update, unfortunately I have to group a few really cool things into one post. Thank you to everyone who attended the 2017 Montreal Comiccon and came out to attend both my workshops. It means the world to me that so many of you showed up to discuss pop culture, inclusivity, and media creation this past weekend. Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in updating this site, it’s been a crazy year and I haven’t had a chance to let you guys in on all the cool news.
Firstly, I want to thank everyone who attended my workshops at the 2016 Toronto Fan Expo. It was great getting to meet you all, and I hope to see you guys there next year. I’d also like to thank the convention for having me; it was such a wonderful expo and I can’t wait to see what’s there in 2017. Continue reading “Overdue Thanks To Fan Expo And Some Exciting Updates”

Hey everyone, due to an unforeseen delay I’ll be posting the workshop notes from Witches, Werewolves, and Wraiths: A Writer’s Guide to Monster Making tomorrow (Tuesday, July 7) along with the notes from last year’s Bikinis, Brains, and Boogeymen: How to Write Realistic Women in Horror.
Thanks for understanding and check back tomorrow night for the notes!
This past weekend was the Ottawa Comiccon, and holly hell was it amazing! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it on the Friday or Saturday, but I attended the convention for all of Sunday and it was easily one of the greatest conventions I’ve been to. Continue reading “Thanks Ottawa! Hope To See You Next Year”
I can’t believe the weekend is finally here! I’ve been counting down the days until the Ottawa Comiccon for so long that it’s hard to believe it’s actually here. Although, to be honest, I’m oddly conflicted about the presentation I have to give tomorrow. Continue reading “Off To Ottawa!”
